Data Software Engineer

Job Description

AirSage is seeking a skilled Data Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing systems and software solutions. The ideal candidate has experience with data engineering, software development, database management, and large-scale data analytics.

The successful candidate will help build reliable data pipelines and applications that transform complex mobility and location-based information into useful insights for transportation planning, research, and business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data processing applications.
• Build scalable ETL and data integration pipelines.
• Develop software solutions for processing large datasets.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and platforms.
• Develop and optimize database queries and data models.
• Improve data quality, accuracy, and processing performance.
• Implement automated testing and data validation procedures.
• Troubleshoot software and data pipeline issues.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams.
• Maintain technical documentation and development standards.

Required Technical Skills

• Experience in software engineering or data engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong SQL and database development knowledge.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with data integration and API development.
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with Git and software development workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Apache Spark or distributed data processing.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of geospatial data and location intelligence.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, PostGIS, or similar databases.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and analytics platforms.
• Understanding of automated deployment and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with mobility, transportation, or geographic datasets.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
