POSITION SUMMARY:We're looking for an Electronic Engineer I to join our RF Delivery Systems (RFDS) team and help develop next-generation RF power products used in advanced semiconductor manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers who want hands-on experience with RF systems, power electronics, product development, and advanced test technologies.
This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving technical challenges, working in a laboratory environment, and developing expertise in RF systems, power electronics, automation, and product development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the design, testing, and optimization of RF and power electronic subsystems, including sensors, AC/DC converters, control circuitry, and related hardware.
- Perform hands-on validation and troubleshooting using advanced laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNAs), power meters, signal generators, LCR meters, and electronic loads.
- Develop and utilize automation tools using Python, MATLAB, or similar technologies to interface with test equipment, automate data collection, improve testing efficiency, and expand data analysis capabilities.
- Analyze manufacturing and field performance data to identify trends, improve reliability, and enhance product performance.
- Conduct product failure root cause investigations and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Support design reviews, engineering documentation, product qualification, and release activities.
- Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to support continuous product improvement.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including Reliability Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Test Engineering, New Product Introduction, Program Management, Quality, and Field Applications Engineering, to support product development, qualification, and customer success.
- Manage assigned technical tasks and contribute to project milestones, schedules, and deliverables.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Location: Fort Collins, Colorado
- Environment: Combination of office and laboratory environments with frequent hands-on interaction with development hardware and test equipment
- Occasional travel may be required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, power electronics, RF fundamentals, and test methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Understanding of laboratory test equipment and engineering measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with RF concepts such as impedance matching, Smith Charts, and forward/reflected power measurements is preferred.
- Knowledge of simulation and modeling techniques, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), is desirable.
- Experience using Python, MATLAB, or similar technical computing tools is desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and commitment to continuous learning.
EXPERIENCE:
- Entry-level role with relevant experience gained through internships, co-ops, research projects, senior design projects, military technical experience, or professional engineering positions.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving abilities are highly valued.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required.
COMPENSATION:As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $65,000 - $95,000 per year.
