Graphic Apparel & Print Designer

Location:

Schedule:

Salary:

$85,000–$105,000, depending on experience

We’re partnering with a global apparel company on a Graphic Apparel & Print Designer opportunity supporting a playful, youthful lifestyle brand focused on apparel, loungewear and intimates.

This person will help drive seasonal graphics, prints and artwork across multiple apparel categories, taking concepts from trend research and initial development through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research seasonal trends, graphics, prints, color and artwork direction.
  • Create original prints, repeats, color separations and production-ready artwork.
  • Develop seasonal color palettes and presentation boards.
  • Create artwork for apparel, branding, labels and packaging.
  • Work with fabrics, print techniques and fabric manipulation to support the overall design vision.
  • Communicate with overseas factories throughout the development process.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, Technical Design and Production to ensure accurate handoff and execution.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines against the development calendar.
  • Bring a strong hand-drawing/painting ability along with digital design skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Graphic Design or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in apparel graphic and/or print design.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating apparel graphics, prints, color and original artwork.
  • Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
  • Strong hand-drawing and painting ability.
  • Knowledge of apparel production, fabrics, print techniques and product development.
  • Strong understanding of fashion, textile and art trends.
  • Excellent color sense and overall taste level.
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

The big thing we were targeting was

someone who is truly an apparel graphic/print designer — not a traditional graphic designer — with strong fashion experience, original artwork/print capability and an understanding of how designs actually move into production.
