Sr. Systems Engineer

(Rail & Transit)

to join our dynamic team, supporting major transportation, infrastructure, and public sector projects throughout California. This position is suitable for systems engineering professionals with prior experience in rail and transit projects. This position is hybrid based out of our

Long Beach, CA

office with flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead systems engineering and systems integration activities for complex infrastructure projects, including rail transit, bus rapid transit, and EV charging projects.
  • Develop Concept of Operations (ConOps), requirements specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), system architectures, verification plans, and other systems engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate technical activities between multiple stakeholders, disciplines, and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability, interface management, verification, and validation documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support integration of communications, networking, operational technology (OT), SCADA, charging management systems (CMS), vehicle systems, and related infrastructure systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, analyses, and engineering documentation.
  • Review engineering deliverables for quality, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support factory testing, site acceptance testing, integrated system testing, and operational readiness activities.
  • Support bids, proposals, and additional projects as needed.
  • Lead project meetings, site visits, workshops, and presentations.
  • Travel domestically as required for client meetings, conferences, or project site visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of systems engineering and systems integration experience on transportation, rail, transit, EV charging, communications, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Transportation, rail systems, bus rapid transit, or public sector experience is required
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with IBM DOORS or other requirements management tools.
  • Experience with rail systems, transit communications, SCADA, operational technology (OT), CBTC, traction power, vehicle charging infrastructure, or bus operations facilities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $145,000 - $185,000

, depending on experience
