The Full-Stack Engineer partners with a cross-functional team to build out new cloud application features and optimize and improve existing features. You will build and evolve AssetWatch’s industrial IoT SaaS platform using Node JS, React, TypeScript, AWS serverless technologies, event-driven services, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-assisted development across frontend, backend, and APIs.
HIGH-LEVEL POSITION EXPECTATIONS
At this level, engineers independently handle moderately complex development tasks and contribute to more complex projects. They contribute to design discussions and have a strong understanding of their technology stack.
- Technical Experience – Technical experience to design, develop, and maintain high-quality solutions.
- Problem Solving – Work independently on moderately complex tasks and contribute to highly complex projects. Participate in tech planning including estimates. Work with senior engineers to develop efficient and effective solutions.
- Process Improvement – Active participation in process improvements including tools and standards.
- Knowledge Sharing – Share knowledge with other engineers to reinforce standards and support continuous learning.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Develop new cloud application features across the stack, from React through AWS API Gateway, Lambda/ECS, and database services.
- Deliver technical solutions and feature improvements through production, with senior guidance on complex design and architectural decisions.
- Contribute to scalable, observable technical solutions, including technical design documents, implementation plans, migration plans, and architecture decision records.
- Support production systems through monitoring, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
- Support code deployment and continuous integration.
- Build high-quality software through automated testing and thoughtful peer code reviews.
- Optimize and improve existing application features.
- Help improve SDLC through tooling, automation, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate across teams to solve problems and maintain clear API, event, and data contracts.
- Contribute to improvements in engineering best practices, coding standards, and shared technical patterns.
- Use agentic AI tools to accelerate planning, implementation, debugging, testing, and documentation while exercising sound judgment.
- Review and validate AI-assisted work to ensure quality, security, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of professional experience building production React web applications with TypeScript and relational databases such as MySQL or SQL Server.
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch, Datadog).
- Practical understanding of secure software development, including authorization, secrets management, least-privilege access, dependency risk, secure cloud development, and responsible handling of AI-assisted code.
- Hands-on experience using agentic, AI-assisted development tools with sound judgment about when and how to direct them, including awareness of risks such as sensitive data exposure, insecure generated code, hallucinated output, excessive agency, and overreliance; able to apply appropriate human review, testing, and validation before merge or deployment.
- Experience with browser compatibility, mobile-friendly standards, WCAG accessibility standards, and applicable EU accessibility compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with issue tracking and source control such as Jira/GitHub.
- Experience improving application performance, reliability, scalability, and cloud cost efficiency.
- Experience with Python, UX, and additional AWS tools is a nice bonus.
The base salary range for this full-time position is posted below, plus equity and benefits. Variable pay, bonuses, and other cash compensation will be discussed throughout the interview process.
The salary range was determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. $120,000 — $155,000 USD
