Arηs Group, Part of Accenture, is looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer for one of its clients at the EU Institutions in Brussels.
Role & responsibilities
- Translate business and user requirements into intuitive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing UI solutions that align with user needs and project goals.
- Analyse user journeys using UX (User Experience) methods (heuristic review, task analysis, analytics review).
- Advise cross-functional teams throughout discovery, prototyping, usability testing, and developer handoff; ensure UI consistency and adherence to the design system.
- Prototype low- and high-fidelity UI with wireframes, mock-ups, and storyboards to validate and iterate toward an intuitive user experience.
- Design and develop responsive UI solutions for various digital products (e.g., web, mobile, tablets) by defining information architecture, interaction workflows, navigation patterns, and applying principles of typography, color, and imagery.
- Create and maintain a design system (style guide, tokens, components, templates) with versioned libraries, usage guidelines, and governance.
- Creation of graphical elements including illustrations, visuals, infographics, data visualisations, etc.
- Plan and run user-centred evaluations (usability tests, heuristic reviews, A/B tests), report issues with severity, evidence, and recommendations.
- Contribute UI acceptance criteria and test scenarios; support cross-browser/device and visual regression testing and analyse results with developers.
- Collaborate closely with UX Analyst and Accessibility Experts to ensure designs are user-validated and compliancy with regulations and policies.
- Prepare developer handoff deliverables and collaborate via handoff tools to ensure accurate implementation.
- Advocate for and implement design system components and patterns consistently across all digital products to ensure a cohesive user experience.
Your profile
- Capability to work in an international/multicultural environment, including participation in multi-lingual meetings.
- Talent for generating bold, user-centered concepts and capacity to articulate and defend design decisions with evidence (research insights, usability findings, analytics).
- Proficiency in adapting to and mastering fast-evolving design and prototyping tools and industry trends.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in English and/or French.
- Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
- Results-oriented mindset, focused on delivering.
Technical skills
- Knowledge of core web technologies (HTML5, CSS3) with an understanding of W3C standards, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO principles.
- 6 years of experience with wireframing and interactive prototyping design tools such as Balsamiq, InVision, UxPin, Framer.js, Figma or similar.
- Knowledge of design and graphical tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.
- 3 years of experience with collaborative tools such as Atlassian’s Confluence or similar.
- 6 years of experience applying UX design best practices, including user interface ergonomics, responsive design, data protection and security principles.
- 3 years of experience applying user-centred design principles and methodologies, including development of usability test plans based on defined target audiences, personas and user stories.
- 3 years of experience in user testing through all stages of a digital solution, including different techniques (e.g. eye tracking, dynamic/static verification) and methods of testing (e.g. remote usability testing, A/B testing, hallway testing, post-release testing).
- Knowledge in cross-browser compatibility and testing.
- Knowledge of web ergonomics, usability and accessibility.
- Knowledge of fundamental visual and typographic design disciplines and principles.
- 3 years of experience in agile development environments.
- Understanding of security practices and protocols.
- Experience with design system tools and component library management.
Certification
- A certification such as UXQB Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience - Foundation (CPUX-F), Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) UX Certification, or Google UX Design Certificate would be considered an asset
