We are seeking a dynamic, motivated individual with an understanding of printed circuit board design (PCB) in Swindon. We will have the aim to work within and deliver to bold timelines and collaborate with our design engineers to build sophisticated boards. We believe in technology enablement by collaboration and building extraordinary products at Apple.
You will develop the PCB Layouts for PMU IC silicon validation purposes You'll work closely with the Silicon Validation HW teams to understand the board requirements, providing help and guidance during the schematic generation stage and proposing design trade-offs for resolution and implementation where appropriate Assist fellow PCB Layout Engineers in the resolution of critical design problems Provide competitive and accurate timeline estimates for project planning purposes In conjunction with your peers, define best practice layout methodologies Delegate PCB layout effort to other team members including contractors when necessary
BSc in Electrical Engineering or industrial experience equivalent Fluency in English
Knowledge of PCB Layout, including signal & power integrity considerations Experienced in the design of HDI PCB layout with fine pitch BGA fan-out using Cadence Allegro or similar layout tool. Understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes Experienced in building impedance-controlled stack-ups with blind and buried vias.
A detailed understanding of PCB Design tool flows including schematic entry and setting up design constraints using Allegro CM or similar.
Knowledge of DC-DC converters and PMU’s (Power Management Units) preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to collaborate, work independently and proactively while making sound technical decisions Able to adapt to new workflows that can improve design quality and expedite project delivery. Ability to work well on a team, take ownership and motivate self and others
