The Greater China team develops and manages world-class communication strategies to support Apple’s continued growth in this dynamic region. We are seeking a Corporate PR Lead to drive the strategy, planning, team management and development, execute programs and initiatives flawlessly with impactful results, and provide strategic counsel to cross functions in the region and worldwide stakeholders.
This role will drive the development and implementation of a strategic focused strategy to proactively communicate Apple’s contribution in the community, values, support to developers and customers to targeted media, influencers and stakeholders.
In this role, you will be leading a team of PR Managers who you will actively develop through nurturing and building capabilities tied to our competency architecture and leadership attributes.
This role is expected to be hands-on, working day-to-day with the team and other critical functions including Government Affairs (GA), MD Office, Legal, Apple Retail, Product Marketing, Marcom, Developer Relations, Services and Finance to build our corporate narrative and champion Apple’s contribution and values.
The role will also require to lead C-suit of Apple executive’s China trips to cut through our storytelling around contribution to the market and innovation story by partnering with Product PR and broader stakeholders.
You will partner closely with worldwide team to align on messaging and global initiatives while also defining and implementing market-specific ideas for current and future stories. You will rely on your relationship-driven ability to work cross-functionally and cross-borders with worldwide communications to ensure global communications plans are implemented locally.
In addition, you must have the capacity to handle crisis and other reactive PR situations with grace and ease, knowing when and how to respond to media inquiries. You will identify and escalate potential public issues that may impact Apple, diffuse rumors, and resolve conflicting messages.
15+ years of experience in a global organization in a consumer and/or corporate PR capacity; 15+ years of experience in a global organization in a consumer and/or corporate PR capacity; Experience delivering public relations campaigns that create impact. Experience managing change and ambiguity while leading teams and building interpersonal relationships.
Experience developing and delivering communications that convey a clear understanding of a product narrative to stakeholders. Ability to analyze complex information to solve problems and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Ability to continually prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, creative, fast-paced environment.
Highly collaborative with extraordinary social and interpersonal relationship-building skills. Proficiency in Mandarin and English.
Experience from Technology and/or Consumer Goods sectors Knowledge of China’s regulation that relevant to Apple’s business. Network of media, journalist contacts and high profile influencers in Greater China. Knowledge of social media platforms and digital media trends.
University degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or Arts.
