The Wallet, Payments & Commerce team is responsible for bringing ground-breaking financial services to consumers with a vision to replace the physical wallet and help people live financially healthier lives. Apple Pay enables an easy, secure, and private way to pay online.

In this role, you will learn how the world’s best payment experiences are built — studying global best practices in eCommerce UX and Apple Pay integration — and bring those insights to the Japanese market. You will help excite and engage Japanese merchants and partners by crafting compelling mockups and conducting research that shows them what’s possible with Apple Pay.
You will also have the opportunity to join merchant visits and participate in proposals alongside the team, gaining firsthand experience in business development.
We’re looking for someone with genuine intellectual curiosity, a passion for UI/UX, and the ability to understand the unique dynamics of the Japanese merchant landscape.
Enrolled in BA or BS / MBA during time of internship, start date is negotiable Can work 4-5 days on weekdays (9:00-17:30) for most of the internship period Able to commute to Apple Japan Office Business Level Proficiency in Japanese and English Domestic travel as needed
Strong interest in Apple business & culture and the customer experience Naturally curious and comfortable with ambiguity Excellent understanding of the principles of business development, sales, marketing and product development Critical thinking to identify and prioritize key levers to drive business Ability to identify customer pain points and needs, and prioritize key product features and communication to address them Ability to persuade and engage with partners Strong interest/passion in digital financial services/products and eCommerce Strong analytical and communication skills Self-motivated, Driven, with a high level of integrity and sense of urgency to "make things happen" in a fast-paced environment Passion for UI/UX and delivering great customer experiences Experience with design or prototyping tools (e.
g. , Figma, Sketch, Keynote) is a plus Great collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally
