About the role

Anthropic is seeking an experienced leader for our Treasury, Liquidity & Capital Planning team. In this foundational role, you will own the forward view of the company's cash and balance sheet as Anthropic manages one of the fastest-growing balance sheets in technology alongside some of the largest infrastructure commitments any company is making.

You will report to the Head of Investments & Market Risk and work closely with FP&A, Accounts Payable, Collections, Controllership, Legal and Infrastructure Finance.

This is a rare opportunity to build a liquidity and capital planning function from the ground up at a high-growth AI company. You bring a strong background across multiple pillars of Treasury and a track record of driving complex, cross-functional initiatives through to completion with limited direction and full accountability.

You are proficient in using AI tools to drive automation and process optimization, and you will use Claude to build much of the tooling that makes Treasury faster and more precise.

Key responsibilities

• Build, own and continuously improve a direct cash flow model and forecast by legal entity and currency, tied to bank data at the front end and to FP&A's operating plan, so the company sees liquidity needs well before decisions have to be made
• Establish a disciplined forecasting cadence across monthly, quarterly and annual cycles, with forecast-to-actual variance analysis built on bank transaction data
• Partner with FP&A and Strategic Finance to support capital allocation decisions with scenario and sensitivity analysis and clear liquidity trade-offs
• Monitor and manage working capital drivers, including receivables, payables and DSO/DPO, to anticipate cash flow impacts and improve liquidity
• Prepare cash flow analyses and executive-level materials for the Treasurer, CFO and senior leadership, highlighting key drivers, risks and opportunities
• Partner with FP&A, Accounting, Tax and business teams to understand forecast movements, challenge assumptions and improve accuracy, while strengthening processes, reporting and controls so the framework scales
• Serve as back-up for the investments desk (in-house portfolio, money market funds, deposits and separately managed account instructions) and for the FX, commodities, rates and credit desk

Minimum qualifications

• Have built and owned a direct cash flow model and forecast across multiple legal entities and currencies
• Can project a balance sheet, leverage and covenant metrics as comfortably as cash, and explain the trade-offs clearly to a CFO and other non-Treasury stakeholders
• Understand how a forecast turns into an investment ladder, a hedge program and a compliance test, not just a report
• Have stood up models, reporting and controls where none existed, and are comfortable being the whole team
• Work directly with data, including bank feeds, ERP cash flows and portfolio reports
• Understand money market funds, deposits, short-duration securities and basic hedging mechanics well enough to cover a trading desk
• Exercise strong judgment in ambiguous situations and build effective relationships across Finance, Legal and the business

Preferred qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in treasury or corporate finance
• Have led a cash flow forecasting or liquidity planning function inside a large corporate Treasury
• Have supported a revolving credit facility, debt issuance or rating agency process with forecasts and covenant models
• Have worked in Treasury through hypergrowth, large financings or an IPO
• Have used Claude or similar AI tools to automate Treasury workflows and reporting
• Are familiar with a treasury management system, Clearwater, planning tools or a data warehouse such as BigQuery
• Have executed trades under a Treasury policy, including direct securities, money market funds, deposits, and FX spot and forwards
• Hold a CFA, CTP or CPA
• Are excited by Anthropic's mission to build safe, transformative AI systems, and by Treasury work that directly supports it

The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.

For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

Annual Salary:

$230,000 — $300,000 USD

Logistics

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience

Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
