ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril Maritime is fielding the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) for the undersea, reconnaissance, and strike mission. Anduril has brought to the market a unique, ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth platform, and a completely refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from "large" to "extra-large" vehicle sizes.

Today, Anduril is executing on multi-million-dollar production contracts while simultaneously performing at-sea operations, and is scaling its supply base to move these vehicles from low-rate builds to sustained rate production.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Supplier Industrialization Engineer (SIE) is a high-profile, cross-functional role that owns the manufacturing readiness and production performance of the external supply base for a specific Undersea, Reconnaissance & Strike business line.

You will own the industrialization of the Dive-LD vehicle's supply chain — pressure vessels and structures, subsea connectors and harnessing, electronics and PCBAs, power systems, and sensors that make up the bulk of the BOM.

You will spend your time where the parts are actually made. You are accountable for knowing what each supplier's line can really produce, what it would take to double it, and where the process is going to break before it breaks.

You will work in close coordination with internal engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams, as well as directly with supplier leadership and their manufacturing engineers, to execute effective, creative, and smart supply chain strategies that achieve production goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own supplier industrialization end-to-end for an assigned URS product line, from NPI build through rate production, across the full multi-level vehicle BOM.
• Analyze and validate true supplier capacity through value stream mapping, takt and cycle time analysis, and constraint identification — and translate that into a defensible, bottoms-up statement of what each supplier can deliver against our production plan
• Partner directly with our suppliers' manufacturing and industrial engineering teams to optimize process flow, factory layout, work cell design, tooling, and material presentation to reduce cycle time, WIP, and touch labor
• Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering to drive PPAP, FAI (AS9102), control plans, PFMEA, and process qualification to closure ahead of production release
• Establish and drive process performance and statistical process control (SPC) reviews at supplier sites, and convert the data into corrective action
• Own bring-up of new production tooling, fixtures, and lines at supplier sites to ensure materials, processes, and tools are capable of meeting product performance, quality, and demand requirements
• Own capacity expansion readiness and production ramp-up at suppliers, including the CAPEX, tooling lead time, and labor plan required to hit each rate step
• Vet supplier production capability, facilities, equipment, and workforce for inclusion on the Approved Supplier List, and drive corrective action for suppliers that fall short
• Identify and drive product and process improvements at supplier sites to lower part cost, reduce supply risk, eliminate potential defects, and improve cycle time over the product lifecycle
• Support root cause task forces in tandem with Supply Chain, Quality, and the supplier, and be responsible for closing the loop on corrective and preventive actions at the supplier
• Partner with Product Sourcing Engineers, Global Strategic Sourcing, and Buyer/Planners so that sourcing decisions, cost models, and material plans reflect real supplier capability
• Partner with internal Manufacturing and Design Engineering to drive design-for-manufacturability feedback from the supply base back into the product before drawings are locked
• Maintain a clear, current picture of industrialization risk across the product line and escalate it early, with a recovery plan attached

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of experience in industrialization, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSIE, manufacturing, materials) or a related technical field
• Demonstrated experience taking a product or supplier from prototype/NPI through production ramp, including tooling and line bring-up
• Hands-on experience with value stream mapping, capacity modeling, and production flow optimization on a live manufacturing floor
• Working knowledge of quality fundamentals including PPAP, FAI/AS9102, control plans, PFMEA, and SPC
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
• Ability to travel up to 25% to supplier sites, domestic and international
• Ability to work onsite in Quincy, MA
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience industrializing complex assemblies where mechanical, electrical, and structural commodities have to be brought up in parallel
• Experience with maritime, subsea, or pressure-critical hardware — pressure vessels and housings, subsea connectors and penetrators, syntactic foam and buoyancy, composite structures, weldments, or potted/encapsulated assemblies
• Familiarity with large machined structures, fabrication, welding, and finishing processes, or with electronics manufacturing and SMT processing
• Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, marine, or another high-reliability industry
• Familiarity with developing and producing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other structured continuous improvement methodologies
• Prior knowledge of Oracle or a similar ERP system and of PLM/MBOM structures
• Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to hold a supplier accountable without damaging the relationship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance

US Salary Range

$146,000 — $194,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
