About this role
Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.
Amazon Seller Assistant is our flagship GenAI-first, multi-agent system that reimagines seller experience. Our vision is to provide each seller with a proactive, autonomous, agentic assistant that understands their business and helps them navigate the complexities of selling by anticipating their needs, surfacing insights, resolving issues, taking actions on their behalf, and helping them grow.
Amazon Seller Assistant helps millions of sellers on Amazon serve billions of customers worldwide.
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to help define and build the next generation of Amazon Seller Assistant. You will partner with scientists and engineers to launch production-grade agentic capabilities at Amazon's scale, owning your problem space end-to-end from a clear customer insight to a shipped product that millions of sellers rely on.
Key job responsibilities Lead the design and development of agentic software systems across the full lifecycle — from working backwards on a seller problem through technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
Own your team's architectural direction for multi-agent services, influence technical decisions in dependent systems, and guide technology choices by evaluating tradeoffs in scalability, extensibility, performance, and security.
Collaborate with applied scientists, partner engineering teams, and product managers to translate GenAI research into reliable, production-grade seller-facing features.
Mentor and coach multiple engineers, drive adoption of engineering best practices, and contribute to team growth through recruiting, technical assessments, and career guidance.
Evaluate when and how to integrate generative AI tooling into development workflows, refine model outputs using responsible practices, and apply well-chosen data structures and algorithms to solve problems efficiently.
A day in the life You start by reviewing a technical design document from a teammate, sharpening the approach before the team commits to implementation. Later, you lead a working session with engineers from a partner team to align on an interface contract between your services.
After lunch, you write code for a critical agentic component, applying patterns that others on your team will reference as they build adjacent features. You wrap up by pairing with a junior engineer on a tricky debugging session, turning it into a coaching moment.
About the team
Amazon Seller Assistant team operates at the very frontier of agentic AI and agentic commerce — not as a research group, but as a team shipping production-grade, multi-agent systems used by millions of sellers worldwide.
