About this role

Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.

Are you excited about the incredible opportunity that cloud computing represents? Are you passionate about delivering high-quality services and ready to apply your experience at massive scale?

Amazons' DNS, Route 53, is a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) service used by millions of customers. We operate in over 200+ locations worldwide and provide advanced functionality such as Private DNS, DNS Firewall, DNS Resolver, Hybrid & Multi Cloud DNS and integration with a plethora of AWS services. On top of that, we offer fast change propagation with a 100% availability SLA.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Manager on Route 53 Resolver, you will own the vision, the roadmap, the architecture direction, and the operational health of a tier-0 service portfolio, through a team of software development managers and senior engineers.

You will decide where the organization invests: new customer-facing capability, the scaling and availability work that keeps the service ahead of customer demand, and the efficiency work that reduces what it costs to run DNS at this scale.

This is a builder's leadership role.

You will be expected to hold the extremely high technical bar personally — reading designs, challenging capacity models, and being able to reason about change propagation latency, cache behavior, and blast radius — while also doing the harder organizational work: setting vision, growing managers, resolving cross-organization dependencies, and making the key decisions each year that determine whether the roadmap lands.

  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
  • Experience partnering with product and program management teams
  • Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
