About this role
Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.
You will design and build the full-stack software that keeps thousands of robots moving across Amazon's fulfillment network. Your work directly shapes how warehouses operate — from real-time monitoring dashboards that surface equipment health to maintenance tools that reduce downtime and keep packages flowing to customers on time.
Every feature you ship is tested against live robotic systems, giving you rapid, tangible feedback on the impact of your code.
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who is curious, collaborative, and ready to own complex technical problems end to end. You will define technical strategy for your team, mentor fellow engineers, and drive architectural decisions across multiple services. If you want to solve problems where software meets physical robotics at massive scale, this role will challenge and grow you every day.
Key job responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement distributed systems applications and infrastructure in support of robotic movement.
- Influence the team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap.
- Work with stakeholders across solutions architecture and operations teams to iterate on design and implementation.
- Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Prototype and test concepts or features, both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment
- Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback.
- Mentor other engineer team members.
- Utilize software engineering processes and technologies.
