The AWS Graviton Software team is looking for Sr Software Development Engineers to optimize performance for Graviton processors.
Graviton delivers the best price/performance in AWS data centers. For the past 3 years more than half of the new AWS EC2 capacity is Graviton based and it is used by over 98% of our 1000 largest customers.
You'll drive performance optimization across open-source projects, internal services, and customer applications, working on everything from Linux kernel development to C++ and Rust code debugging and optimization. Our team works on a diverse range of applications including databases, web services, compilers, video encoding, ML, and HPC workloads.
Key job responsibilities
- Performance Analysis and Optimization: root cause and enhance software architectures, algorithms
- Optimize software performance for AWS customers and AWS services: S3, Lambda, EMR, ElastiCache, RDS, and others
- Open Source Development: contribute to Linux kernel improvements and other public projects
- Develop analysis frameworks and automation systems
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
