What You'll Do
- Lead the quality engineering strategy for modern web applications and backend services, ensuring quality is built into every stage of the software development lifecycle. Link
- Partner closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, and UX teams to define quality objectives and drive engineering excellence.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks while contributing production-quality code in Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript .
- Build reusable libraries, testing utilities, and developer tools that improve engineering productivity across teams.
- Contribute to frontend and backend development efforts using React , Java , and Python , enabling a shift-left approach to quality.
- Drive API, integration, end-to-end testing strategies for distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
- Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, code quality, observability, and release readiness.
- Leverage AI-powered engineering tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor , and similar platforms to accelerate software development, test generation, debugging, code reviews, documentation, and root cause analysis.
- Evaluate and implement AI-assisted workflows that improve engineering efficiency and software quality across the organization.
- Mentor engineers on software design, coding standards, automation architecture, AI-assisted development, and engineering practices.
- Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, and production quality initiatives while collaborating across engineering teams.
- Drive continuous improvements in test strategy, automation coverage, release quality, and engineering productivity through metrics and data-driven decisions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 4–6 years of experience in Software Engineering, Software Quality Engineering, or a hybrid Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role.
- Strong programming skills in Java and Python , with proficiency in using React and modern web technologies
- Experience designing and developing scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or PyTest .
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and modern application architectures.
- Experience with SQL and MongoDB databases.
- Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into products or engineering workflows.
AI & Modern Engineering Expectations
